📻 New Addition to the Shack: Yaesu FTDX10

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve added a new HF radio — the Yaesu FTDX10 — to my shack! 🎉

This rig is an absolute marvel. The level of technology and performance packed into it is incredible — I’m genuinely amazed at how far things have come since my earlier radios.

First Impressions

The receiver performance is outstanding — crisp, quiet, and sensitive. The touchscreen display is bright and responsive, making it easy to navigate through menus and settings. The band scope and real-time waterfall display are smooth and precise, giving an excellent overview of band activity.

The DSP filtering is especially impressive. It pulls weak signals out of the noise with ease, and the Contour and APF (Audio Peak Filter) features are remarkably effective. Combined with the strong 100W output and solid build quality, it’s clear this radio was engineered with serious operators in mind.

Technology Marches On

It’s fascinating to see how much progress has been made in amateur radio gear. Features like:

Looking Ahead

I’m really looking forward to spending more time on the air with the FTDX10, experimenting with different modes and antennas, and seeing what this radio can really do under various band conditions.
